Our story begins with Dr. Jake Riegel, a military doctor who served during World War I until he returned to St. Croix Falls in 1919, where he saw a need for quality healthcare. He opened the first hospital in his wife's family home, the Baker House, which later grew into St. Croix Valley Memorial Hospital and then a separate clinic, River Valley Medical Center. In 1999, the clinic and hospital merged to become the St. Croix Regional Medical Center, now St. Croix Health.
Since then, St. Croix Health has grown and evolved, always striving to meet the ever-changing healthcare needs of our community. We're not just a hospital but a comprehensive healthcare system dedicated to providing top-notch care for you and your loved ones.
