Establish Your Preferences for Health Care
You should always have a choice when it comes to important medical decisions. Depending on your condition, you may be put in situations where you are not capable of expressing your wishes. Fortunately, you can still make sure you have control over how your care proceeds through Advance Directives.
Advance Directives are legally binding documents that outline your requests for medical care. You can use advance directives to instruct doctors on how to proceed if you are unable to communicate, or you can name a trusted friend/family member to make those decisions on your behalf. You do not need an attorney to create advance directives.
