St. Croix Health’s response to IV fluid shortages
As the states affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton continue the healing and rebuilding process, the devastation continues to ripple through the country.
The flooding caused by Hurricane Helene has impacted the North Carolina plant that supplies the majority of IV fluid solution used across the United States. While the plant strives to regain its ability to function and ultimately meet the needs of the country’s IV fluid demands, the supply of these necessary fluids for all healthcare organizations has been impacted. St. Croix Health continues to monitor the situation while also having regular meetings with our clinical staff to ensure we are able to meet the needs of our patients. Our commitment is to the well-being of our patients and that will continue to be how we make decisions moving forward. Currently, we have not canceled any procedures because of the situation, but that decision may change if the shortage makes it necessary.
St. Croix Health thanks you for trusting us to make the best decisions for the health of our communities. We will update this page with any changes to our status.
